Hallaton Cottage, an Oak House & Barn Conversion
About the project...
This was a fantastic project to work on! We began by removing asbestos from the roof and then took down the old roof timbers. The front wall was pulled down and then rebuilt. We slotted the new oak frame inside the four walls and added the timber frame. The whole building was insulated up to current building regulations and plastered. The bathroom and kitchen were fitted to a high standard along with underfloor heating!
One of the most interesting parts of this project was the preservation of the old mud wall. The client asked us to make sure this was kept in its original condition, so we boxed it off and made it water tight until the project was finished. It was then unveiled as a feature.

Northamptonshire Oak renovated our derelict cottage retaining original features into the new design with a fantastic interior Oak structure. The project management and communication from Rob was outstanding. I was consulted at every stage of the project and the expert guidance from Rob and Hayden contributed to an impressive final result. The tradesman used for the project were excellent, all work was completed to a very high standard with minimal disruption throughout the programme. I have no hesitation in recommending Northamptonshire Oak; Rob and Hayden exceeded expectations and are a pleasure to work with.
